The rest of that day, and the next few days, all rolled together in one hazy, crazy, blur. Going to the hospital seeing Peter the Other laid out. Comforting Peter. Trying to hold it all together as it unravelled and came together again. Arrangements made for the funeral service and then Peter’s idea, Mary’s idea, his idea, all of their idea the way Other Peter would have wanted it. A wake to be arranged for all of the town to be held at Peters. The body laid out. Jessie’s paintings on the wall. Him to MC the event and everyone to gather to see this man out in style.

November the 1st, which was to be Jessie’s grand opening, became Peters grand closing.
